What I'm choosing to work on

Over time, as I get involved in more and more projects and more hacks and more stuff to do, I realized that I don't have much motivation/reason to work hard if:

  • I'm not intellectually challenged (this is on me. I simply need to learn from the bottom/conceptual ground up)
  • not for a good cause / not revolutionary and high impact enough

So that's what I will change from now. Every event/activity/work I'm involved in (hacks etc), I will not join unless it falls into one of these two categories:

  • I'm deepening my technical understanding

OR

  • Build a tool/system/software that actually makes a social impact (this is, of course, a subjective value, at least in this case. But my goal is to concentrate my attention on specialise in certain areas of issues I actually care about, rather than scatter my attention)

In fact, just like going to the gym and add more weights every time, I need to stop making apps or hack projects that I won't even be a user myself.
