Hadzabe's Lukuchu game

Khanh Tran

(pronounced like 'Kahn')

I haven't found a job title that really fits what I do, so here's what I enjoy most:

  • Research & data — I like digging into topics and finding information like a detective, using tools, linguistic/cultural/political/economic understanding
  • People — I care about the people my work is for and the people I work with. Like many others, I enjoy working with people who share the same mindset: curious, constructive, competent
  • Impact — being part of something with an ambitious purpose and by people who actually want to make a difference

Life highlights

  • Went 7 hours hunting with one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes Hadzabe, in Tanzania
  • Conducted a few independent low-profile interviews with individuals connected to the Vietnam War for Bachelor's thesis, challenging the single narrative I grew up with and deepening my understanding of history, bias, and storytelling

In my free time, you'll find me

  • Building tools for good
  • Working on my polyglot dream (viet → eng → ita → french → ?)
  • travle.earth, Flags (gedev), catfishing.net, GeoGuessr (recommend me any good games!)
  • Strava, HYROX in training
